Lovely weather for ducks

Winter has hit us early this year. The predicted temperature for today is 13, but I think it would be struggling to even reach double figures. Pouring rain, hail, wind and even some snow in the hills. I am wearing two jumpers and it's only May! What does winter proper hold, I wonder...

****

It is however lovely weather to knit and to think about knitting. I found a beautiful cache of vintage knitting pattern books in an op-shop yesterday - some even back to World War Two, with mention of wool being requistioned by the Defence Department - and so once I get a firmer grasp on a few more stitches, I can see a vintage cardigan on the needles...

****

It is also great weather for comfort food. Last night's dinner was chicken cooked in apricot nectar with rice and steamed pak choy sprinkled with parmesen cheese. Mmmmm...

****

Slightly surreal to think we will soon be in Singapore and 32 degrees!

I'd love to see photos of singapore. So strange to read about bad weather and winter coming in May. I'm not getting used to it...

And not long after this you will find out if there is still a summer-like May in Germany! :-)

Dear Feronia,

Thanks for dropping by and please do not worry about the delivery at the hospital, I guess things will be well taken care of.

Do take care during this season when it's turning cold, and I guess your body has much to adjust to when you arrive at Singapore! It's crazy hot there right now ( 35deg?) Be sure to replenish fluids and dress intelligently.

For your information, the hippiest tourist spots of now are Marina Bay Sands http://www.marinabaysands.com ( mainly leisure, shopping & casino ) and Universal Studio http://www.rwsentosa.com/Attractions/UniversalStudiosSingapore. Be careful with ordering food if you aren't crazy about spice. On behalf of Singapore, here's welcoming you to the sunny island and a wonderful trip to remember!! YAY! Do me a favor with your photos, I'm miss home. :)

@ Sefarina -

I'll post lots of photos either when we get back or as we go. The weather is unusually cold here for May.

@ Bodecea -

Yes! Looking forward to some German sunshine :)

@ Stardust -

Thanks for your tips on Singapore. I was last there 16 years ago so I'm sure it's changed a bit!

You take care of yourself and little Breadcrumbs, Stardust :)

I might just take you up on your kind offer...I have a few more questions!

Ooo me and mum are about to start learning to knit and crochet. I have never done either; she used to knit but can only remember one stitch ;)

I just read you like Lead Balloon! I love that programme!!!! And the Mighty Boooooooosh too! LOL!

Thanks for the offer of the diet sheet. I'll make sure to clear the place of naughties in readiness. You're not coming back too soon, are you?! Haha!

I went to Singapore en route to Australia in 1987. Lord, I can't believe that's so long ago.... it was lovely there. Hope you are enjoying yourself.

Oo so sorry to make people worry :(

We miss you when you're not about!

Do start knitting - it's great! I'm whiling away the hours as we cross Scandinavia on the trains at the moment...

I am eating so many Danish pastries at the moment, that all my time walking the tourist sites is being wasted!!

Yay Lead Balloon and the Boosh!

Having a lovely time, thank you :)
