Eurovision

Didn't really get drawn into the Eurovision thing as much as I have in previous years this weekend - in fact I found the semi-finals pretty boring and only watched a little of them. I committed to the finals last night though, and sat through almost all of the 25 songs and the very tedious voting process to see that Germany won. And a very well deserved win it was too. A great fun song and very Eurovision. Honourable mentions must also go to Ukraine, Armenia, Israel and Greece. Did you watch it?

It's a good dose of light-hearted fun, I find.

No, I didn't - as always. And I cannot hear this song any more... it's on the radio all day since weeks!

It's one of the songs you like less and less the more often your hear it...

I watched it. And as much I may be happy for Germany winning after 28 years of being pretty much on the least places most of the times, I cannot say that I do like this song too much. Its a bit boring to me. Also do I dislike the whole hype. My favorite was Armenia. Because the lyrics had something to say.

No, we sumtimes watcht it wen Terry Wogan narrated it cos he thort it was all silly nonsense an dident tayke it seeriossly an made funny comments all the way throo it, wich wound up the Europeans cos they tayke it all seeriossly an we don't hahaha.

@ Bodecea -
Yes, they did say it was a big hit in Germany so you're probably completely sick of it!

@ Diana -
Yes, Armenia was good. I like the idea of the "apricot stone".

@ Bob -
I have to say I miss Terry Wogan. We have our own commentators now and they're nowhere near as funny.

Forgive my absence....been snowed under......hence no Rex blogs either.....I caught the end 10 minutes......to me, it's nowhere near as tacky and fun as it used to be and lacks the Wogan presentation.....it just amazes me how the boundaries of Europe have spread...there's a few countries in there I wouldn't have classed as European!
