Folk Art

Images from Google Images

I am doing some reading about Poland at the moment for the writing I'm doing and I have just been reading about the town of Zalipie, where the women of the town do folk art paintings both out and inside the houses. Lovely! I love folk art and I am slowly amassing a little collection of it (mainly from Russia), so I would love to visit this town one day.
Has anyone been to Poland or even Zalipie?

No, never was in Poland (except from a boat trip on the Eastern sea where we touched the border). In southern Germany and Austria, "L├╝ftlmalerei" is quite popular (but I like the Polish art more):

interesting!! i think this art will make the houses look more unique than the custom designs!

Yes, I think I have seen some examples of L├╝ftlmalerei in your fair country and also in Austria. I think I like the Polish art more too!

Thanks for dropping by! Yes, hand-painted designs would definitely give your hosue some character, wouldn't they!

I've been to Poland once but I didn't see any painted houses. It looked like people were very poor...
I'd like to visit Mecina once, as my grandgranddad was from there.

Maybe the painted houses are just confined to this one area?
