Disappointed Cat says...

I made this little guy a day or two ago after seeing a similar idea for a felt brooch in Pip Lincolne's Meet me at Mike's book. At first, I didn't like him because I didn't think he was very cute. But now I kind of like his rather affronted expression. Sort of like Grumpy Cat but more...Disappointed Cat.

I found two lovely looking cookbooks at the op-shop this morning - The Vegan Table and The Joy of Vegan Baking, both by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau. The recipes look delicious and easy, two things that I have wondered about the possibilty of with vegan cooking in the past. I have never cooked vegan before. Have you? Any tips?

It is not very seldom I eat vegan, maybe 1-2 times a week. As a vegetarian who does not often use eggs it's only a matter of milk and cheese. For example most of my asian food is vegan. I use coconut milk for the sauce. Or I eat spagetti bolognese with soja "meat" and tomato...

I cook mostly vegan, and I think it's easy and delicious. My cooking is not as fancy as many recipes in vegan cook books are, though, because those need time.
3 days of 4 I'm just making rice or noodles with some sort of soy and lots of seasonal vegetables. It's not as boring as it sounds. ;-)

Hi Bodecea,
Now that we have chickens, avoiding eggs is hard, but thanks for some ideas there :)

Hi Sefarina,
Nice to know it doesn't have to be complicated - thanks for your thoughts there :)

Cat looks very Scandinavian to me. The Viking sort of a cat. :) Lovely.
